Dr. Fowler is a Comprehensive Ophthalmologist, fellowship trained in Cornea and External Diseases. She specializes in no stitch cataract surgery, premium intraocular lenses, diagnosis and treatment of corneal diseases, corneal transplants, medical and laser treatment of glaucoma, dry eye  syndrome, diabetic eye exams, LASIK/PRK and routine eye exams. Prior to joining Advanced Eye Centers, Dr. Fowler has been practicing in Dartmouth for many years. She sees patients at the Dartmouth, New Bedford and Taunton locations. 

Dr. Fowler received her Doctorate of Medicine at the prestigious Istanbul School of Medicine where she graduated with honors. She then did an internship at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, as well as an Ophthalmology residency at UAMS Jones Eye Institute in Little Rock, Arkansas. She completed her fellowship in cornea, external disease and refractive surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Fowler served with distinction aboard the ORBIS International Flying Eye Hospital, where she worked as an eye surgeon under challenging conditions in numerous developing countries. During her service with ORBIS, she educated local physicians and restored eyesight to blind impoverished communities around the world while working side by side with many of the world’s most renowned ophthalmologists.

Dr. Fowler has extensive clinical and surgical experience in both Turkey and the United States and numerous publications and awards to her credit. She is a Diplomate of American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Fowler is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, New England Society of Ophthalmology and American Medical Association.

Dr. Fowler resides in Dartmouth with her husband, her daughter and two dogs. She enjoys nature walks, beach, cooking and travel.
